Medicine Uses
Elimite (Permethrin 5%) balm is also used for treating scabies. Do not take while breast-feeding as it may pass into breast-milk. 30 grams should be sufficient for you. Wash the cream off after 8 to 14 hours. Do not apply to cuts or wounds. This could cause too much medication to enter into your body.
Recommendations
You should not apply this prescription to the eyes, mouth or lips. Use water to irrigate these parts immediately if this happens. You should avoid sexual contact with others until the infection has been cured. Talk to your health care worker if you have any questions about how to use Elimite. It works by killing the scabies tick (Sarcoptes sabiei). If you skip a dose of Elimite, take it as soon as you remember. Continue to use it as directed by your doctor.
